Nathan R. Linn, 26, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, January 8, 2009, in Fort Myers, Florida.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Moline. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to Children?s Therapy Center, Moline.
Nathan Robert Linn was born April 3, 1982, in Moline, the son of Randy and Christine (Seabloom) Linn. He graduated from Moline High School in 2000, attended Black Hawk College and St. Ambrose University, and graduated from Bartending School in Chicago. He was a popular bartender at Uno?s Chicago Grill and Westminster Golf Club in the Fort Myers area.
Nathan excelled in athletics. When he was 13, his baseball team got 2nd in the state. At Moline High School, he was named an all-conference player in three sports, wrestling, baseball, and football. He placed 4th in the state in individual wresting and his wrestling teams got 2nd and 3rd in the state in 1999 and 2000. Nathan?s 2000 baseball team had Moline?s best record and took 3rd place in the state, where he was named to the All-State tournament team as catcher. He was also named an All-State football player.
He was an avid golfer and music lover, a lifelong Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, and loved his dogs, Chewy and Cubbie. He had an infectious smile, a gregarious personality, and made friends everywhere he went. If you knew Nathan, you loved him.
Nathan is survived by his parents, Chris and Randy Linn and siblings, Jared Linn and his friend Hildy Webb, Abbey Linn and her friend Andy Waeyaert, and Joshua Linn, all of Coal Valley; grandparents, Elizabeth and Theodore Seabloom of Lynn Center, Illinois, and Beverly and Irvin Linn of Orion, Illinois; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; a special friend, Limor Adony of Lehigh Acres; and many ?buddies? and ?regulars.?
