Nancy P. Kerr

Nancy P. Kerr, of East Moline, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 at Genesis Medical Center in Silvis, Illinois after a fierce and courageous battle with ALS. 

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12^th Street, Moline, immediately followed by burial at Moline Memorial Park.  A reception to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held immediately after the burial at the East End Club in Moline.  All are welcome to attend.  Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 19.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ALS Association of Greater Chicago.

Born on December 20, 1956 in Moline, IL to Rufus and Rosalee Ketterman Rogers. Nancy graduated from United Township High School in East Moline, IL in 1975.  She married Micheal Kerr on April 24th, 1982.

Nancy retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after 34 years as a director within the Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) where she was a strong advocate for advancing women in the workforce.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Western Illinois University and Master’s of Organizational Leadership from Saint Ambrose University.

Nancy enjoyed cooking, karaoke, road races, vacationing to the Wisconsin Dells, watching her favorite TV show Outlander, drinking Coors Light and spending time with her family and friends.  She especially enjoyed spoiling her 4 grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her husband, two sons: Michael (Lyndsie) Ferndale, MI; Brian (Julianne), Moline; brothers: Art (Valerie) Rogers, Frank (Sue) Rogers; grand-children Camille, Milo, Remy and Duncan; best friend, Debbie Buchanan; and special friends, Cheryl Ashcraft and Nancy Donnelly.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lana Nolan; brother-in-law, Jimmy Kerr; nephews, Scott Frutiger and Steven Rogers.

Nancy’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all friends, family, nurses and others who helped Nancy during her battle with ALS.
