Nancy Ann Janes, 53, formerly of St. Paul, Minnesota, died Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Trinity Pathway Hospice at Terrace Park, Bettendorf, Iowa.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, followed by a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. An additional gathering will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at North Como Presbyterian Church, 965 Larpenter Avenue West, St. Paul, Minnesota. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel at Acacia Park Cemetery, Mendota Heights, Minnesota, followed by burial.
Because of Nan?s life-long struggle, her family suggests memorials be made to Prader-Willi Syndrome Association of Minnesota, 7209 Oaklawn Ave., Edina, MN 55435, or to Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, 212 3rd Avenue North, #140, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55401, which had an important place in Nan?s life.
Nancy was born July 2, 1955, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Alexander Leslie Janes, Jr. and Jean Tucker Janes. She graduated with honors from St. Paul?s Central High School. Nancy was a self-taught artist who had displays of artwork at various Twin-City galleries. She loved her family, had a strong faith, loved animals and caring for the cats at a humane society, and enjoyed following professional wrestling.
Nan is survived by her mother, Jean Janes of East Moline, Illinois; and her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Eric Trimble, and nieces and nephews, Amy and David Lorimer II and Reid and Jennifer Trimble, all of Moline, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her father.
