Myrta P. George, 100, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at Regent Care Center, Kingwood, Texas.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Moline.
The former Myrta Priscilla Brookhart was born April 18, 1913, in Letts, Iowa, the daughter of Archie Ray and Bessie May Althaus Brookhart. She married Hans Edward George on October 24, 1937, in Columbus Junction, Iowa. He died October 29, 1971. She was a surgical nurse for Dr. Louis Arp, Sr.. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church, Moline, and a former Member of King's Daughters and Quad City Diabetic Association, and a former Girls Scout leader. She enjoyed ceramics and watercolors.
Myrta is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Edward Hartman of Kingwood; two granddaughters, Sonya Gilmore and Michele Hartman; and a sister-in-law, Fran Brookhart of Griffith, Indiana.
