Michael L. Traman

Michael L. Traman, 62, of Rock Island, Illinois, died, Sunday, March 2, 2025, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island. 

A gathering to celebrate Mikey’s life will begin at noon on Saturday, March 8, and last all afternoon, at VFW Post #2153, 1721 7th Street, Moline, Illinois. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Michael Lee Traman was born November 3, 1962, in Moline, the son of Phillip and Shirley (Anderson) Traman. He married the love of his life, Sherry (Freitag) Alcorn on April 10, 2015, in Rock Island.

He was a dedicated employee of Hodge Company in East Moline and will be remembered by coworkers as man always doing what he could to help those around him. He loved people and the outdoors. He was happiest when walking, kayaking, around nature in general, or spending time with his family. 

Mikey is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry; five children, Elizabeth Traman of Rock Island, and Austin, Phillip, Isaiah, and Cherokee Traman, all of Maquoketa, Iowa; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his parents, Phillip and Shirly Traman of Moline; siblings, George (Leasa) Traman of Moline, Phillip “Buddy” Traman of Moline, Linda Knight of Davenport, Iowa, Pat (Ben) Hyslope of Davenport, Marcia Ehrecke of Moline, and Elissa (Mike) Bundy of Davenport; his mother-in-law, Darlene Walker of Columbus City, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
