Michael G. Schaab, 84, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Davenport Lutheran Home.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the family.
Michael was born November 16, 1940, in Davenport, the son of Casper and Magdalene (Schectel) Schaab. He married the love of his life, Glenda Pashia, on October 13, 1962, in Rapids City, Illinois.
He worked over 30 years for Sears, Roebuck and Co., serving as store manager at the Clinton location and district loss prevention manager, retiring from the Moline location in 1993.
Mike was a no-nonsense, ethical man who was very proud to have volunteered at the Davenport Police Department with VIPS (Volunteers in Police Service) for over 15 years, as well as being a blood donor of over 17 gallons.
He loved collecting coins, reading, genealogy, and watching crime shows on television. He was also a sports official for several sports over the years, mainly football and basketball. He worked his way up to officiating college basketball and was an inspiration to his family, especially to his daughter, Michele, who followed in his officiating footsteps.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife of over 62 years, Glenda; two children, Scott (Sara) Schaab of Rapids City, Illinois, and Michele (Linda Ferreira) Schaab of Seattle, Washington; his pride and joy, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; siblings, Phillip (Jacqueline) Schaab, Kathleen (Tom) DeVore, Paul (Shirley) Schaab, and John (Leanne) Schaab; and many nieces and nephews, including Teresa (Ed) Howard, Amanda Gilmore, and Brady (Loren) Gilmore.
The family would like to thank everyone at Davenport Lutheran Home and Hospice Compassus for their loving care.
