Michael S. Gabbert, 27, of Coal Valley, died Sunday, January 8, 2006, in an accident on Locust Street East of I-280 in Davenport.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Cremation will follow the services and the cremated remains will be buried in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to his father for an educational fund for his children.

Michael Steven Gabbert was born September 28, 1978, in Silvis, Illinois, the son of Michael D. Gabbert and Theresa Waibel Gabbert. He was a machine operator at CMT, East Moline. He enjoyed watching sports on television.

Michael is survived by his mother, Terri Hager of Joy, Illinois; his father and step-mother, Michael and Cathie Gabbert of Safford, Arizona; two children, Michael Brian and Taylor Marie Gabbert, and their mother, Heather Richardson, of Port Byron, Illinois; his grandmother, Ruth Gabbert of Coal Valley; and half-sisters, Carla Waibel of Waukegan, Illinois, and Danielle Hernandez and Corey White of Phoenix, Arizona.
