Michael J. Geary, 64, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

At Michael’s request, there will be no services. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Michael James Geary was born January 5, 1958, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of James L. and Alma (Sharoian) Geary.

He most recently worked at Hodge Companies, East Moline, as a forklift operator. He truly loved his job and made many friends there.

Mike was kind-hearted, hard-working, and always willing to help someone in need. He was very artistic, especially enjoying building things with his hands and drawing. He also loved fishing and watching old John Wayne movies.

Mike is survived by his son, Anthony Geary of Moline; two grandchildren, Kade Charles James and Audrey Alma; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie (Anthony) DiCaprio of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jamie (Kip) Kula of Boca Raton, Florida, and Beverly (Christopher) Kavanagh of Laguna Niguel, California; his mother-in-law, Terri Goulet; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Misti Geary.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Constantinou and his staff, UnityPoint Hospice (especially Nurse Andy), and everyone at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for the wonderful care given to Mike and his family.
