Melissa M. ?Missy? Wilcox, 39, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died unexpectedly Friday, November 27, 2009, in Coal Valley.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, with The Reverend Randy Willers, Salem Lutheran Church, Moline, officiating. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Melissa Marie Hiesterman was born April 21, 1970, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy Daniels Hiesterman. She married Matthew Wilcox on April 27, 1996, in Davenport. She graduated from Illinois Quad City Barber and Hair Styling College. Missy was a hair stylist at Polished Reflections, Coal Valley. She previously worked at the barber college and at Wal-Mart.
She enjoyed scrap booking, card making, stamping, knitting and Facebook. She coached her daughters? Dad?s Club softball teams for several years, and loved watching her children play sports and school activities. She enjoyed crime theme television programs and baking Christmas cookies with her family.
Missy is survived by her husband, Matthew; three children, Kaiti Hiesterman of Moline, and Christi and Alex Wilcox of Coal Valley; her father and step-mother, Don and Barb Hiesterman of Muscatine, Iowa; her mother and step-father, Dorothy and Manuel Castro of New Windsor, Illinois; brothers, Ken Entsminger of Walcott, Iowa, and Jason Entsminger of Davenport; sisters, Janel Robertson of Davenport, and Becky Hiesterman of Clarksville, Tennessee; her mother-in-law, Grace Wilcox of Davenport; and her sister-in-law and her husband, Beth and Kim Kemp of O?Fallon, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
