Maxine A. Hamilton

January 14, 1920 — June 11, 2001

Sherrard, Illinois Maxine A. Hamilton, age 81, of Sherrard, Illinois died Monday, June 11, 2001, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will follow at Peniel Cemetery in Joy, Illinois. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. The former Maxine A. Loving was born on January 14, 1920 in New Boston, Illinois the daughter of Fred and Lucinda (Inman) Loving. She married Harland C. Lingafelter on October 8, 1938 in Burlington, Iowa. He died on February 27, 1965. She then married Waldo ''Wad'' Hamilton on April 20, 1967 in Preemption, Illinois. He died on June 11, 1983. She was a member of Preemption United Methodist Church. For most of her life Maxine stayed at home to raise her family. After the children were grown she worked as a cook at Sherrard High School for many years retiring in 1984. She loved to play bingo, watching her grandchildren play sports, and going to garage sales, and will be remembered for serving chili at her home, during Sherrard High Schools Homecoming for over 30 years. Survivors include four daughters and their spouses; Sandy and Robert Krueger of Rock Island, Patty Strachan of Rock Island, Mary and Dave Anderson of Reynolds, IL, and Roberta and Mike Lawson of Ocala, FL; a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Debbie Lingafelter of Sherrard, IL; stepchildren and their spouses, Melissa and Roddy Hartman of Matherville, IL, John and June Hamilton of New Windsor, IL, and Henry and Evelyn Hamilton of Aledo, IL, twenty grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren, sisters and brother-in-law, Louise Stice of Rock Island, IL, and Doris and Kenny Louck of Keithsburg, IL; and a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Audrey Loving of Aledo, IL. She was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, one grandchild, and one great-grandchild. End of Obitiuary
