Mary Ruth Parsons

Coal Valley, Illinois Mary R. Parsons, 74, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Saturday, August 7, 2004, in Genesis West Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa. Mary died with her family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday in Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Burial is in Union Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established in her name. The former Mary Ruth Nash was born April 22, 1930, in Brighton, Iowa, the daughter of Elwood and Bertha (Dunsmoor) Nash. She graduated from Parsons College, Fairfield. She married Harold D. Parsons on December 9, 1952, at Salem, Iowa. He died October 5, 1994. She was a family person, who loved her children and grandchildren. Mary is survived by four children and spouses, Patrick and Janet Parsons, of Moline, IL, Debra and Don Morris of Lexington, SC, and Scott Parsons and Lori Parsons, both of Coal Valley; 11 grandchildren, Sherie, Jamie, Josh, Shana and Jessie Parsons, Krista Talbot, Jeremy, David and Michelle Morris, and Joey and Justin Parsons; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Luella Vasey of Des Moines, IA, Herb Nash, Stella Rich, and Gertrude Adrian, all of Washington, IA, Hattie Hoover of Fairfield, IA, Beatrice Stull of Ollie, IA, and Charles Nash of Newton, IA.
