Mary Louise Stolze was born December 19, 1927 in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Antonio and Maria (Messina) Menco. She attended parochial schools in Rock Island. She worked at the Rock Island Arsenal. She married Jerome J. Stolze on June 20, 1953. Mary’s life was devoted to raising her four sons. She was a caring, selfless homemaker. She enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by her entire family.
Mary supported her children through varying school and sports activities. Having four sons, she often joked she was running a cafeteria, and not a home. She never tired or complained about the demands.
Mary is survived by her four sons, Stephen (Dena), Jeff (Mary), Greg (Jackie), and Dan (Deb); grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica), Erin, Jana (Andy), Zach (Kelly), Danielle, Kyle (Debi), Nate; niece, Monica Menco; and great grandchildren, Ilana, Jackson, Sophia, Colin and Franklin. She was preceded in death by her parents; older brothers, Father John and William; younger sister, Marianna; and her husband, Jerome.
