Mary J. Railsback, 88, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at Illini Restorative Care in Silvis, Illinois.
Services are 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church in Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials can be made to either the Quad City Symphony, Bethany Home or to the church. Services are under the direction of Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline.
The former Mary Jennette VonMaur was born October 11, 1917 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Cable and Jennette (Lane) VonMaur. Mary graduated from St. Katherine?s in Davenport, Iowa, and Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She married Fred Railsback Jr. on May 11, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa. Mary was a Real Estate Agent at the Railsback Agency with her husband. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church, board member of Bethany Home, and was a member of the, King?s Daughters, Alpha Phi sorority at Northwestern University, and the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club. Mary was active with the Quad City Symphony; she enjoyed traveling, loved music, and playing bridge.
Survivors include a daughter, Sara Railsback of Moline, a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Ella Railsback III of Macomb, Illinois, a granddaughter, Jane and Salo Ale of Minneapolis, Minnesota, a grandson, Christopher Railsback of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, and two great-grandchildren, Lea Ale of Minneapolis, and Zachary Railsback of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Fred Railsback Jr. on June 27, 2005, and a brother, Joe VonMaur.
