Mary Jane Tennant, 73, of Taylor Ridge, Illinois, died Monday, March 30, 2015, in her home after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's, surrounded by family by her side.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Mary Jane Tennant Memorial Fund established at Blackhawk State Bank for a memorial on the Moline riverfront. Trimble Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
The former Mary Jane Steffen was born September 4, 1941, in Davenport, Iowa, to Herman and Ruth (Hollmer) Steffen. She married Charles D. Tennant. She was a homemaker and self-employed. She loved spending time with her family and following all her grandchildren's sporting events. She loved Christmas, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafts, swimming, the outdoors, and was an accomplished seamstress.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband Charles of Maple Park, Illinois; three children and their spouses, Michael and Leslie Tennant of Maple Park, David and Christina Tennant of Taylor Ridge, and Deanna Tennant of St. Charles, Illinois; and five grandchildren, Ben, Ashlee, Tanner, Kortnie, Alexus Tennant and her dog Mimi who was always by her side.
