Mary Jane Hardiek passed away at her home in Moline, Illinois, on Monday, May 9, 2016, after a long illness.
A Christian Wake Service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, followed by visitation for friends and relatives until 8 p.m. at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3209 60th Street, Moline. She will be buried at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Effingham.
Memorial gifts may be made to Café on Vine in Davenport, St. Anthony School in Effingham, Illinois or Christ the King Church in Moline.
She was born in Effingham, Illinois, on April 16, 1940, to Ralph and Agnes Dasenbrock. She attended St. Anthony grade and high schools in Effingham. She married Bernie Hardiek on May 18, 1963 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Effingham. They have three children and spouses, Mark and Jodi Hardiek of Lemont, Illinois, Greg and Melanie Hardiek of Oak Lawn, Illinois, and Kathy and Kevin Dougherty of Glenview, Illinois. They have seven grandchildren, Rachael, Paige, Claire, Justin, Eddie, Sean and Adam.
Mary Jane was a long time member of Christ the King Church in Moline and enjoyed playing golf with friends at Short Hills Country Club for many years. She was a very energetic and resourceful person. She finished the basement of their home in Moline using the carpenter skills that she learned from her Dad. And she was always ready to host the neighbor ladies for a friendly cup of coffee.
She is predeceased by her mother and father, her two brothers, Bob and Don and her sister Julie. May she rest in peace.
