Mary C. Inskeep, 79, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Community of Christ, 1525 48th Street Place, Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. A joint committal service will be held for Mary and her husband, Darrell, and military honors will be presented by Moline American Legion Post #246. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center.
The former Mary Catherine Golden was born April 25, 1930, in Menlo, Georgia, the daughter of Robert and Effie Buford Golden. She married Darrell Leon Inskeep on January 1, 1948, in West Point, Georgia. He died May 19, 2002.
Mary had been an active member of Community of Christ and supported the Humane Society and WDLM Ministries. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a compassionate friend of people and animals, and was forgiving, kind, charitable and generous.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Julie Inskeep Lundahl of East Moline; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Inskeep of Hamilton, Georgia, Ronald and Sandra Inskeep of Alpha, Illinois, and Randy and Melba Inskeep of Moline; ten grandchildren, Elijah Inskeep, Silas Inskeep, Alecia Inskeep, R. J. Inskeep and his wife Jane, Tommy Moyers and his wife Ashley, Justin Inskeep and his wife Jenna, Jennifer Inskeep, Ryan Inskeep, Anna Demeulenaere and her husband Ted, and Amber Inskeep; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Hines of Roanoke, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell; a son, Robert Inskeep, a great-granddaughter, and brothers, Mark and Robert Golden,
