Moline, Illinois Mary "Rusty" Haubeil, 84, of Moline, well-known area golfer and bowler, died Friday, June 18, 2004, in Rosewood Care Center, Moline. Services are 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, and 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. The Rev. Msgr. Dale Wellman will officiate. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, where the Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to Intouch Day Center for Older Adults, Moline. Mary Louise Haubeil was born March 22, 1920, in Moline, the daughter of Antonio and Mary (Kelly) Haubeil. She was employed by the Federal Government for 36 years, retiring in 1976 as Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Rodman Laboratory. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was an avid sportswoman, and won trophies for her bowling and golf, and was a many-time winner of the Arsenal Ladies Golf Tournament. She enjoyed playing cards and attending the symphony, and had been recognized by the Rock Island Arsenal for her volunteer work. Rusty is survived by her sister, Marjorie Slater of East Moline; her nephew, Craig Slater of Moline; her great-nephew, Justin Slater of East Moline; and close friends, "Mert" Norris of Moline, Mae White and Joyce Olson of Bettendorf, and Diane DeVore of Moline.
