Mary E. "Lib" Clausen

February 3, 1931 — November 26, 2024

Moline, Illinois

Mary Elizabeth (Pearson) Clausen, 93, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Nursing and Rehab Center, Rock Island, Illinois.

Burial will be in Galesburg Memorial Park, Galesburg¸ Illinois. Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the family.

The former Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Pearson was born February 3, 1931, in Galesburg to Clifford M. and Margaret (Lagergren) Pearson. She married George Herbert “Herb” Clausen from Abingdon, Illinois, on October 24, 1954, in Galesburg.

Her employment included banking, interior design, and secretarial work for Visual Communications in Moline.

Mary Lib’s greatest gift was singing Christian Music. She received great pleasure using her voice in church choirs everywhere she lived. One of her favorite Hymns was written by Luther Bridgers in 1910, titled "He Keeps Me Singing." The 3rd verse of this hymn describes her unending faith:

“Feasting on the riches of His Grace, Resting 'neath His shelt'ring wing, Always looking on His smiling face, That is why I shout and sing!"

Mary Lib's dream has come true - she now sings in the Heavenly Choir.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Clausen, Moline; son, Eric Clausen, Tempe, Arizona; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Carol Pearson, Maplewood, Minnesota; nephew, Scott Pearson and wife Kay; niece, Elizabeth “Beth” Pearson, all of Forest Lake, Minnesota; niece, Chris Swarbrick, Rapid City, South Dakota; and many cousins.
