Marvin W. "Butch" Nielsen

Marvin W. "Butch" Nielsen, Jr., 58, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, December 17, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City.

Services are 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. until time of service. Prior to services, cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory. Memorials may be made to the family.

He was born August 13, 1958, in Moline, the son of Marvin Sr. and Barbara (Griffin) Nielsen. He worked for the LeClaire Hotel, American Air Filter, and most recently for the Kwik Shop on 16th Street in Moline.

Marvin enjoyed riding his bike, and was an avid Cubs, Bears, and NASCAR fan. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by sisters, Debbie Nielsen of Moline, Vickie (Dan) Malmstrom of Silvis, and Sandra (Dave) Swanson of Moline; a brother, Steve (Cheryl) Nielsen of Moline; beloved nieces and nephews, Grace (Tom McCubbin), Cris Steinert, Nicholas Nielsen, Russell Nielsen, Craig Swanson, Keri (Levi) Moore, Shelly (Luke) Britt, and Tony (Gracie) Nielsen; and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
