Marvin Douglas Schroeder, 72, of DeWitt, passed away on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, at Westwing Place in DeWitt. To honor his wishes, cremation rites have been granted and a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
Doug was born June 12, 1948 in Clinton, the son of Marvin and Lucille Schroeder. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1966. On Dec. 12, 1970, he married Joy Tjaden in DeWitt and had two children, Erica and Scott. He later married Rosanna Campbell on Feb. 11, 1984 and they were married for 26 years before she passed away in 2010.
Doug worked with Allied Construction in Bettendorf and then went on to continue his work as a carpenter at International Harvester Farmall plant in Rock Island before he and Rose moved to Florida where he continued his trade and enjoyed the weather. Doug loved classic cars, boating, visiting Disney and Epcot Center, and in recent years, he enjoyed every moment he got to spend with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Rosanna. Those left to survive his memory include his sister, Barb (Ed) Kramer in Lowden, sister, Linda Staggs in DeWitt, brother, David (Becca) Schroeder in DeWitt, daughter, Erica (Jose) Schroeder-Cerda in Davenport, son, Scott (Becky) Schroeder in Davenport, stepson, Tony Piper in Chariton, stepson, Tim (Connie) Parsons in Commerce City, Colorado, stepdaughter, Wanda Haring in Deer Trail, Colorado, and stepson, Tracy Campbell in Chariton, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
