Marla A. Rose, 53, of Davenport, Iowa, departed this Earth and entered into Heaven on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Silvis, Illinois.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.
Marla Ann Rose was born September 20, 1967, in Davenport, to Beverly Rose and Epsi Stokes. She lived most of her life in Rock Island.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Rock Island, where she loved singing in the choir. She loved interior design, listening to music, being at home and watching BET. Her favorite rapper was Nelly. She loved black art, writing poetry, and spending time with her family and best friend, Stephanie Bacon Horton.
Marla is survived by two children, Treonah (Adreian Roper Sr.) Rose Roper of Silvis, and Markese A. (Star Burrage) Rose Sr. of Moline; she was great mom but an even better grandmother to Adreian Roper IV, Adreonah Roper, Ma’Kyiah Rose, and Markese A. Rose, Jr.; a sister, Michelle Rose of East Moline; nieces and nephews, Darious Rose, Jerelle Rose, James Sharkey Rose, and Nyiesha Rose; and her huge Stokes family. She was preceded in death by Carl Rose, Beverly Rose, AJ and Trey Roper, Epsi Stokes, Kenny Stokes, and Charlotte Stokes.
