Mark A. Wilson, 63, of Aledo, Illinois, formerly of Silvis, Illinois, died Saturday, April 27, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on May 10, 2024, at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Silvis. A luncheon will be held in the Church Fellowship Hall following the service. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Mark's memory.
Mark was born April 13, 1961, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Gary and Mary (Debackere) Wilson. He was raised by his mother and step-father, William Wright. He enjoyed his career working in home remodelling.
He enjoyed anything to do with outdoors and working with his hands. He loved fishing and gardening, working with tools and refurbishing things, and was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Mark is survived by a son, Shawn Wilson of Geneseo; his grandson, Matthew Wilson; siblings, Theresa (Bill) Chipman of Aledo, Jerry (Danelle) Wright of LeClaire, Iowa, Jim (Ann) Wright of East Moline, and Thomas Wright of East Moline; his uncle, Joe Debackere; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Wilson; his mother and step-father, Mary and William Wright.
