Marjorie L, Lowry, 91, of Moline, Illinois, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Unity Point Health Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.
Graveside services are Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, at 10 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The former Marjorie Provonzie was born on December 18, 1921, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Provonzie. She grew up in Davenport, with her sisters, Josephine and Angela and her brother Joseph. Marjorie married Wendell Lowry in 1967. They lived in Milan, Illinois until he died in 1984. Marjorie then moved to Moline.
She retired from the U.S. Management Engineering College on the Rock Island Arsenal in 1984 where she worked for 15 years. She is a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Moline.
She is survived by her brother, Joseph Provonzie of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a step-daughter and her husband, Louise and Brad White of Perrysburg, Ohio; a step-son, David Lowry of Perrysburg, Ohio; and a special niece, Jacquie Schiernbeck of Eldridge, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine and Angela in addition to her husband, Wendell.
