Marina Aguirre

Marina Aguirre, 42, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, December 13, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City.

A memorial mass is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 19, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moline. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Burial is in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Edgar Rosales for a fund to be established in Marina’s memory.

Marina was born on May 7, 1982, in Mexico, to Uriel Aguirre and Juliana Pantoja. For the past 12 years, she shared her life with her beloved partner, Edgar Rosales.

Marina had a passion for life and found joy in simple pleasures. She loved reading, being outdoors, gardening, and cooking, but her greatest love was her family. She cherished time spent with her nieces and nephews and held her family close to her heart.

Marina is survived by her significant other, Edgar; her parents, Juliana and Uriel Aguirre of Silvis; sisters, Veronica (Miguel Angel) Lopez of East Moline, Gabriela (Daniel) Gonzalez of East Moline, and Ariana (Pedro) Aguirre of East Moline; her nieces and nephews, Paloma, Isabel, Daniella, Santiago, Abigail, Juan, Valentina, Julian, Elijah, Layla, Oakley, Nico, Lucas, and Augustin; Edgar’s father, Ramon Rosales, Sr.; Edgar’s siblings, Ramon (Angela) Rosales, Jr., Alberto (Taylar) Rosales, and Silvia (Matt Peterson) Rosales; and her dogs, Barley and Remi. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Angel Lopez, and Edgar’s mother, Silvia Rosales.
