Marilyn Mitrisin, 87, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline, with The Reverend Mark Frazee officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Memorials may be made to Hand in Hand, Bettendorf, Iowa.
The former Marilyn Marie Glosser was born June 27, 1928, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Winfred and Helen (Lewis) Glosser. She married Michael D. Mitrisin on December 11, 1946, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He died December 25, 2009.
Marilyn worked for Montgomery Ward and McCabe Department Stores, and sold Avon for many years. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending winters in Arizona with her husband. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Vickie Mitrisin of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Bonita Elliff of Moline, Gregory and Charlotte Mitrisin of Moline, and Jeffrey and Laura Mitrisin of Plainfield, Illinois; grandchildren, James and Chela Elliff, Jason and Em Elliff, Michael L. Mitrisin, Amy and Kurt Rizzolo, Alexandria Mitrisin, and Joe and Terri Elliff; and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Rizzolo. She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, Katie Mitrisin, and a brother, Ronald Glosser.
