Marilyn J. Walters, 91, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, in Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Cremation will be directed by Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Kankakee, Illinois.
The former Marilyn Jean Walters was born June 17, 1924, in Kankakee, to Albert and Marie (Keliher) Memenga. She married Richard (Red) Walters in 1946. They were lifelong residents of Kankakee, St. Anne, and Bradley, Illinois. Marilyn was a secretary in the States Attorney's Office in Kankakee and also worked at Red's various taverns throughout the years. She had a keen wit and was an avid reader.
Marilyn is survived by four children, Michael (Candy) Walters of Bettendorf, Patricia Gould of Bolingbrook, Illinois (Dan Gould of Bourbonais), Thomas (Lynda) Walters of Normal, Illinois, and Kelly Walters (Michele DeGrauwe) of Coal Valley, Illinois; seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, husband, and son, Terry.
