Marilyn D. Gill, 79, of Coal Valley, died Thursday, December 4, 2003, at her residence. Funeral Services are 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home in Moline, with The Reverend Janice Griffith of Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline officiating. Private Family burial will be Tuesday morning in Erie Cemetery, Erie, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island County "No Kill Animal Shelter". The former Marilyn Dawn Burris was born April 16, 1924 in Erie, Illinois the daughter of Carl and Doris Burris. She married Gerald Gill in Rock Island in 1954, and he preceded her in death in 1959. Mrs. Gill retired after many years as a secretary from the John Deere Harvester works in East Moline. She volunteered her time to many organizations, including the cancer unit at Trinity Medical Center, as a greeter at the quad city airport, and as a reader at the Coal Valley Library. Marilyn took care of her mother-in-law Gladys Anderson up to the time of her death. She was a also lover of all animals. Ms. Gill's family includes her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Kathy Gill of Lakebay, Washington, a grandson, Jesse Allingham, and granddaughter, Emily Allingham, both of Havre-De Grace, Maryland, and a cousin, Karen Millington of Flower Mound, Texas.
