Marie M. Maciolek, 71, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, September 14, 2013, in her home surrounded by her family.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial is in Western Township Cemetery. A Wake Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, followed by visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Moline Animal Aid Humane Society.
The former Marie Magdalene Redecker was born June 25, 1942, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Raymond H. and Marie M. Deisenroth Redecker. She graduated from Sherrard High School, and married Leo Albert Maciolek on February 23, 1963, in Milan, Illinois. He died March 23, 2012. She was the owner and property manager of Maciolek Apartments for 25 years.
Marie was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church and formerly belonged to St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley. She was a supporter of ASPCA and Moline Animal Aid Humane Society, and enjoyed gardening and landscaping.
Marie is survived by three children, Jon Maciolek and his wife Angela of Orion, Illinois, Rebecca Maciolek and her partner Jennifer Marin of Rock Island, and Annette Westmorland and her husband John of Moline; five grandchildren, Olivia Grilc and her husband Jacob, Alexa Maciolek, Pfc Nicholas Maciolek, USMC, Sophia Maciolek, and Kaleb Westmorland; a great-grandson, Greyson Grilc; and siblings, Raymond Redecker of Andover, Illinois; Rosalie Dykeman and her husband Oliver of Cambridge, Illinois, Patricia Redecker of Milan, Illinois, Gary Redecker and his wife Suzanne of Watertown, Wisconsin, and Jacqueline Esser and her husband John of Geneseo, Illinois.
