Maria Teresa Fuentes De Monzon

Maria Teresa Fuentes de Monzon, 86, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, June 14, 2018, at home, surrounded by her family.

Services are 5:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at The Refuge Church, Rock Island. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mexico at a later date.

Maria was born June 25, 1931, in Salvatierra, Guanajuato, Mexico. She married Simon Monzon on December 22, 1946, in Mexico. He died September 20, 1999.

She enjoyed camping, traveling and cooking. She read the entire Bible every year for the past 20 years. She was a great woman of God, always seeking God's perfect will. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family, and brothers and sisters in Christ. Her happiness and smile will always be in our hearts.

Maria is survived by five children, Gilberto (Angeles) Monzon of Mexico, Margarita Monzon, Juan Simon (Sandy) Monzon, and Teresita (Antonio) Martinez, all of Moline, and Eric (Rosi) Monzon of Orion; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jorge, Genaro, Raul, Manuel, Elena, and Gloria Fuentes, all of Mexico; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
