Margaret H. Dark, 89, of Silvis, Illinois, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014, in her residence.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Friday at Crosstown Baptist Church, Silvis, with The Reverend J. Ronald Burnet officiating. Burial is in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Colchester, Illinois. Visitation is one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church, or to the Alzheimer's Association. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is in charge of arrangements.
The former Margaret Helen Hopkins was born November 19, 1924, in Floyd, Virginia, the daughter of Claude and Cora Mae (Agnew) Hopkins. She married Mac Dark on November 9, 1952, in Colchester, Illinois.
She was an active member of Crosstown Baptist Church, formerly Silvis Heights Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and was good with her hands, enjoying sewing, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery.
She is survived by her husband, Mac; siblings and their spouses, Bill and Hazel Hopkins of New Philadelphia, Illinois, Tom and Wanda Hopkins of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Herbert Hopkins of Wooster, Ohio, Ruby Bishop of Kirkwood, Illinois, and Bonnie and Oscar Lysle of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ed, Ralph, Clyde, and Davis Hopkins, and sisters, Mary Hopkins and Hazel Herring.
