Margaret F. Herring, 91, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, in Rosewood Care Center, Moline, Illinois.

Private services will take place with burial to follow at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is in charge of arrangements.

The former Margaret Fay Jones was born May 8, 1923, in Baytown, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Ruth (Locke) Jones. She married Hubert Francis Herring on March 23, 1940, in Mexico, Missouri. He died July 19, 1975.

She worked as a machine operator on the Arsenal, for Buddy L Toys and Strombeck & Becker, both in Moline, and later worked for Galliarts Hardware in Colona.

She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Margaret is survived sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Karna Herring of Moline, Ron and Mary Herring of Waterloo, Iowa, and Richard "Butch" and Jima Herring of Broomfield, Colorado; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Dave Gould of Milan; grandchildren, Beth Bridges, Steve Herring, Shelley Hinz, Bob Herring, Jill Davis, Rick Davis, Kelly Herring, and Kevin Herring; four step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Dean Davis; sisters, Willena "Billy" Picket and Louise Clowers; and brothers, Adrian, Cecil, Harley, and Walter Jones.
