Marcheta "Cary" Etheridge

Marcheta “Cary” Etheridge, 70, of Galesburg, Illinois, died Friday, March 7, 2025, at Allure of Lake Storey, Galesburg.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.

The former Marcheta Cary Carter was born February 4, 1955, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Wade and Marcheta (Eckhart) Carter. She had a wide variety of skills that led to different jobs in her life including preschool teacher, medical assistant and phlebotomist, to name a few.

She was a gifted (borderline professional talent) oil painter and especially loved painting wildlife and nature. She loved anything outdoors and animals. She volunteered many hours at the Niabi Zoo in Coal Valley, Illinois, and loved her dogs Philly and Chance.

Cary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Amanda Stigers of Bradford, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Madison and Abagail Stigers; her sister, Cindy Faulk; and nieces, Kylee Yeager and Amber Ussery.
