Manuel L. Honaker, 74, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Sunday, August 30, 2015, shortly after arrival at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Moline, Moline, Illinois.
A Masonic funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, 1700 1st Street, Coal Valley, with Eureka Lodge #69, AF & AM, Milan, officiating. Visitation will follow until 8 p.m. Private family services and burial will be Thursday at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Shriners' Children's Hospitals.
Manuel LeeRoy Honaker was born May 11, 1941, in Lebanon, Virginia, to Garnett Carson and Sallie (Helton) Honaker. He married Mary Anne Ceurvorst on September 5, 1987, in Moline. He was employed at IH Farmall Works and later Navistar, for 30 years, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of Eureka Lodge and Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline. He enjoyed his home workshop, motorcycles, gardening, and playing Euchre with friends. His mischievous smile and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Mary Anne; four children and their spouses, Randall Honaker of Moline, Candace Akerson of Deatsville, Alabama, Kevin and Karen Honaker of Rock Island, and Betsy and Jon Thompson of Moline; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dewey Honaker, and his sister, Edna Strand.
