Mahlon L. “Andy” Anderson

November 20, 1938 — October 21, 2005

Mahlon L. "Andy" Anderson, 66, of Manlius, Illinois formerly of Coal Valley, died Friday, October 21, 2005 at CGH Medical Center, Sterling, Illinois.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mahlon Lester Anderson was born November 20, 1938, in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Lester Everett and Evelyn Ida (Larson) Anderson. He married the former Patricia Bernice Smolenski May 14, 1960, in Milan, Illinois. She preceded him in death on July 28, 1994.

Mahlon graduated from Orion High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959 as a Helicopter Mechanic in the 4th armored division. Mahlon worked for International Harvester, East Moline as a product testing engineer for over 23 years. He enjoyed working on cars, gardening, fishing, hog roasting, and farming.

Survivors for Mr. Anderson include, three children and their spouses, Kelly and Paul Dondanville of Moline, Wendy and Trevor Ingram of Dubuque, Iowa, Joel and Kelly Anderson of Coal Valley, five grandchildren, Amanda Hook, Alanna Anderson, Brandi Ingram, Alyssa Ingram, Ryan Dondanville, a sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Dave Schroeder of Coal Valley, three brothers-in-law, Bill Dahl of Orion, Nick Tertipes of Warsaw, MO, James Smolenski of Milan, his aunt, Ruth Taylor of Cambridge, IL, and a special friend, Judy Smock of Manlius, IL,. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mardelle Dahl.
