K.M. Mac McGuire, 71, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Friday, September 21, 2007, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, and 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley. The Reverend Jim DeBisschop will officiate. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Mac McGuire Memorial Fund which will be established in his name.
Mac was born February 17, 1936, in Carbon Cliff, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Rose (Hinsberger) McGuire. He graduated from Alleman High School. Mac married Beverly Jean Stewart in Rapids City, Illinois, on May 12, 1956. She died August 9, 1993.
Mac was in the Navy Reserves for eight years. He worked at Servus Rubber for nine years and retired from John Deere in 1998, after 33 years of service.
Mac was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Coal Valley. He enjoyed life?s experiences, namely hunting, football, race cars, and was an avid handyman. Most of all, Mac enjoyed being with and loving his family.
Mac is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Terry Harry of Bettendorf, Iowa, a grandson, Jacob Harry, brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Jackie McGuire, and Jerry and Janice McGuire, all of Rock Island, sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Ann Kite of Rock Island, Donna and Chester Howell of Moline, and Betty Thomas of Milan, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
