Ma “Esther” Lopez, 83, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, August 8, 2021, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.

Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moline. Burial is in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, where the Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Masks will be required for all services. Memorials may be made to the family.

Esther was born November 15, 1937, in La Huerta, GTO, Mexico, one of three daughters and four sons of Aurelio Lopez and Adelaida Lule.

She enjoyed shopping (especially buying clothes for her grandchildren), and spending time with her family. Her door was always open to family and she made sure that if you walked through that door, you were well fed.

Esther is survived by her beloved husband, Jose G. Calderon; 8 children, Carmen (Emilia) of Florida, Jose (Elizabeth) of Mexico, Jesus (Dolores) of Florida, Delia “Rosa” (Jose) of Rock Island, Ruben (Norma) of Mexico, Silvia (Horacio) of Moline, Maria Elena (Armando) of Mexico, and Armando (Norma) of Rock Island; 34 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jose Calderon.
