Blanche M. Wittevrongel, 89, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, December 24, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, and 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline, with Msgr. Dale Wellman officiating. Burial is in St. Mary?s Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
Blanche was born October 31, 1917, in Moline, the daughter of Ernest Rene and Mary Augusta (DePorter) Vergotte. She married Maurice Frank Wittevrongel in 1941, in Moline. He died in 1985. She worked as a governess for the Velie Family for several years.
Blanche was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline and the Altar Society of the church. She was a faithful blood donor most of her life and worked as a voting judge for several years.
Blanche is survived by her daughter, Rose Marie Willis of Rock Island; two grandsons and their wives, Todd and Sandy Maddelein of Aurora, Illinois, and Mark and KC Maddelein of Naperville; three great-granddaughters, Anna, Emma, and Ellie Maddelein; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Margie Henderson of Milan, and Irene and Lewis Viviani of Moline. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Clara Vanhooreweghe.
