Russell Ruge, 89, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010, in Aledo Rehabilitation and Health Care.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Drew D. Nagle of Gloria Dei Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the Crippled Children?s Foundation.
Russell Marvin Ruge was born April 26, 1921, in Rock Island, the son of Henry and Bertha (Koester) Ruge. He had six brothers and two sisters. He married Ethel Birkel on February 14, 1946, in Rock Island. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ethel, a daughter, Margo (David) Bush of Hampton, Illinois, grandsons, David and Bryan Bush, and a great-grandson, Carter Bush.
