Mary M. Olson, 85, of Moline, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2007, in Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, Illinois
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Kimberly Riebe officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services.
The former Mary Maxine Nall was born May 6, 1921, in Albia, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Marie (Roberts) Nall. Her mother died when she was two years old, and she was raised by her grandparents, Richard and Ella Mae Roberts. She married Roy Olson on February 4, 1940, in Centerville, Iowa. He died September 22, 1975.
She was an assembler at American Air Filter, which later became Allis Chalmers, for 31 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, East Moline, Moline Viking Club, AARP, and a life member of International Association of Machinists. She loved Bingo and the riverboats, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and crocheting.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Jeannette DePorter of Geneseo; Nine grandchildren and their spouses, Ronald Gass, Jr., Kristy and Dan Robinson, Richard and Beth Gass, Julie and Eric Justice, Tim and Lynette DePorter, Brian and Julie DePorter, Amy and Ken Roehrs, Jennifer Standefer, and Morrie and Jodi DePorter; 33 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sister and brother-in-law, Ila Mae and William Trinkle of Albia, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, James Olson in infancy, and her son-in-law, Delbert DePorter.
