Mildred Boltz, 95, a resident of Friendship Manor, Rock Island, Illinois, formerly of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, with The Reverend Tim Snart officiating. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to the church.
The former Mary Mildred McClintock was born June 23, 1918, in Adams County, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Clara Ida (Floetman) McClintock. She married Orville B. Boltz on June 25, 1937, in Luray, Missouri. He died January 18, 1974.
Mildred was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, where she was a member of the Session, serving as Clerk for several years, and the Women's Association, serving as Chairman. She was a member of the Davenport Chapter #10, Daughters of the Nile, serving as Queen in 1991; Valley Chapter #274, Order of Eastern Star, serving as Matron in 1978-1979; Friendship Manor Volunteer of the Year in 2002; and was a 4-H and Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by children and their spouses, Robert and Betty Boltz of Milan, Illinois, Carolyn and Donald Peterson of Coal Valley, and Barbara McClintock of Silvis, Illinois; grandchildren and their spouses, Charlene and Lenard Easter of Milan, Erin and J.D. Nesset of Bettendorf, Iowa, Brad and Celine Peterson of Chandler, Arizona, Terri and Terry Buzea of Coal Valley, Keith and Beth Peterson of Burlington, Iowa, and Vicki and David Tennant of Coal Valley; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband.
