M. June McKeag, 64, of Illinois City, Illinois, died Thursday, April 13, 2006, in her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with Dr. Kenneth Kline officiating. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Moline, or Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
The former Mary June Stewart was born June 17, 1941, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of O. Ray and Mary Helen (Healy) Stewart. She married John T. McKeag on April 14, 1963, in Moline. She was office manager for Dexton Enterprises, Rock Island, for 15 years, retiring December 30, 2005. She previously worked at Aspen Distribution for 22 years.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Moline, and enjoyed traveling, playing the organ and piano, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
June is survived by her husband, John; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra S. and Richard T. Landi of Milan; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian T. and Catherine E. McKeag of Moline; four grandchildren, Justin, Colton, and Alyssa Landi and Breanna McKeag; and a brother and two sisters-in-law, Clifford R. and Mary Stewart of Rock Island, and Myrtle Stewart of East Moline. She was preceded by a brother, Donald Stewart.
