Grace M. Havens, 89, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, June 11, 2010, in Bickford Cottage Assisted Living, Moline.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
The former Grace Marie Faber was born March 7, 1921, in Galena, Illinois, the daughter of John and Marie Wein Faber. She married Melvin E. Havens on January 1, 1946, in Dubuque, Iowa. He died August 19, 1981. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers, avidly attended garage sales, and enjoyed crafts, flowers, and playing cards. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Grace is survived by four children and their spouses, Sherry and Arlon Rowe of McAlester, Oklahoma, Rodney and Kay Havens of Auburn, Alabama, and Bruce Havens and Sandra and David Moody, all of East Moline; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Bielke and Leona Schweitzer, both of Galena, and a brother-in-law, Robert Reynolds of Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters.
