Lois M. Godwin, 78, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, September 22, 2008, in her home.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Cremation will follow the service with burial at a later date in Morning Sun Cemetery, Morning Sun, Iowa. Visitation is one hour before the services.
The former Lois Marie Kerr was born September 24, 1929, in Wapello, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Emma (Brundies) Kerr. She married Harold Eugene Godwin on September 26, 1948, in Wapello. She was secretary at the Wapello Light and Power Company for several years and later owned Schlueter Electric Company, Davenport.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and was devoted to her husband.
Lois is survived by her husband, Eugene; four children and their spouses, Dave and Linda Godwin of Marion, Iowa, Jan and Richard Brannen of Coal Valley, John and Diane Godwin of Moline, and Steven and Mary Godwin of Blue Grass, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Godwin, two sisters and three brothers.
