Lawrence Fiagle, 90, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, January 26, 2007, in Sunshine Terrace, Logan, Utah.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007, in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Stephen Lovelady officiating. Burial is in Downey Cemetery, Downey, Iowa. Visitation is from Noon until funeral time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Silvis, Illinois.
Lawrence Merle Fiagle was born April 20, 1916, in Downey, Iowa, the son of Lewis and Theresa (Cornelia) Fiagle. He married Wilma Askam on October 3, 1934, in Rock Island, Illinois. She died February 8, 2003. He was employed at the former Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company for 41 years, retiring in 1978.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Silvis, Moline Eagle Lodge, and AFL Local #109, and was a former member of the Moline Moose Club. He loved music and operated Fiagle Dance Band Booking Agency for 20 years.
Lawrence is survived by two children and their spouses, Gerald and Marilee Fiagle of Providence, Utah, and Cynthia and Larry Jones of East Moline, Illinois; nine grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, a sister, Alta Schindler, and brothers, Charles, Raymond and Clarence Fiagle.
