Rosella M. Durey, 86, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Monday, June 7, 2010, in her daughter?s home in Moline, Illinois.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, with The Reverend Tim Snart officiating. Entombment is in Greenview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley.
The former Rosella Marie Taylor was born March 18, 1924, in Amboy, Illinois, the daughter of Theron H. and Edna Conkling Taylor. She graduated from the Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing. She married Kenneth Heegan in 1946, in Moline. She later married Lucius E. Durey in 1967, in Moline; he died August 20, 2000. She was a registered nurse for 40 years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, and a former member of the Nurses Association. She enjoyed gardening and reading.
Rosella is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Michael Roth of Columbia, Maryland, and Sally and Mike Nicke of Moline; a grandson, Ryne C. Ehlers; three step grandchildren, Zachariah Nicke and his wife Jennifer, Michelle Benson and her husband Steve, and Matthew Nicke and his partner Chelsea; five step-great-grandchildren, and a special friend Marilyn Nightingale of East Moline, Illinois. She was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.
