Dorene M. Casper, 79, of Moline, Illinois, left this life peacefully with her family at her side, on Thursday, July 23, 2009, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island, Illinois, after battling emphysema for several years.
Visitation is 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Scales Mound, Illinois, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial is in Scales Mound Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
The former Dorene Mae Rogers was born September 12, 1929, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the daughter of John Thomas and Myrtle Mae (Wickler) Rogers. She married Edward J. Casper on September 6, 1947, in Galena, Illinois. She was a homemaker, loved her family and friends, farming and her cows, and enjoyed helping others, cooking, camping, playing Euchre and traveling.
Dorene is survived by her husband, Edward; two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Patricia Casper of Joliet, Illinois, and Curtis and Paula Casper of West Branch, Iowa; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, David L. Rogers of Scales Mound. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Dorothy and Colleen Rogers, and a brother, Robert Rogers.
