Lucille Rada, 86, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, May 8, 2009, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Moline, with The Reverends Debbie and Flint Miller officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church.
The former Evelyn Lucille Hogbin was born October 30, 1922, in Bondurant, Iowa, the daughter of Elijah Henry and Rosa Mae (Stakey) Hogbin. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines in 1940. She married Donald W. Rada on February 20, 1945, in Des Moines. He died January 3, 2009.
Lucille worked at the Ben Franklin in Moline for 20 years and at Sears in Moline for 11 years as a sales clerk.
She enjoyed sewing, making all of her children?s clothes, chrocheting, and was a wonderful baker (She made the best peanut brittle!).
Lucille is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Marion Tatman, Jr., of Moline, a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Marilyn Rada of East Moline, grandchildren, Tom Tatman, and Linda Bergo and her husband Eric, and great-grandchildren, Laif and Aowen Bergo. She was preceded in death by brothers, Howard, Harold, and Everet Hogbin.
