Lucille M. Noack, 91, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, August 31, 2012, in Trinity Rock Island.
Visitation is 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with a Time of Sharing for family and friends at 4:30 p.m. Private burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Moline Activity Center or Seton Catholic School.
The former Lucille Margaret Hensen was born August 18, 1921, in Morrison, Illinois, the daughter of Claus and Katherine (Rhode) Hensen. She married Elmer Tappendorf in 1941. She married Richard Noack on September 29, 1950, in Moline. He died February 7, 1996.
Lucille most recently greeted her friends as a demonstrator at Hy-Vee in Rock Island. She has been a self-employed caterer for numerous families and businesses in the Quad City area for most of her life.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, and volunteered and worked for the Moline American Legion Post #246. She lived on the Avenue of the Cities and was a good steward of the Avenue in helping to keep it clean. She was a die-hard Cubs fan, and enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
Lucille is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sally Jo Tappendorf of Davenport, Iowa; grandchildren and their spouses, Teresa and Brian Slankard of Fenton, Missouri, Lynn and James VanDeHeede of Moline, Debbie Sheffler of Coal Valley, Illinois, Lara and Gary Hodge of Taylor Ridge, Illinois, Curt and Sarah Tappendorf of Fishers, Indiana, and Meghan and Mike Welch of Moline, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and close friends, Tim Fleming and his family. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Jo Greim of January 26, 2010, and a son in infancy.
