Lucille M. Kirkpatrick

Lucille M. Kirkpatrick, 98, of Silvis, Illinois, formerly of Moline, died Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis.

Services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Milan, where she had been a member.

The former Lucille Maxine Williams was born January 19, 1919, in Kahoka, Missouri, the daughter of Alonzo and Blanche Williams. She graduated from Moline High School in 1936. She married Albert Wilkens on August 10, 1941, in Kahoka. He died November 5, 1971. She later married Theodore Kirkpatrick on January 1, 1977, in Moline. He died in 1998.

She was employed during her lifetime at Servus Rubber in Rock Island, Uptown National Bank in Moline, and as a secretary at Deere & Company and John Deere Insurance Company.

Lucille and Ted retired to Green Valley, Arizona, and enjoyed many years of warm weather, golfing, and she did her best at gourmet cooking. She loved to travel, cruising to Alaska with Ted and traveling to Ireland with the Sunshine Tour group from the East Moline Bank. No moss ever grew under her feet. She loved to shop and loved beautiful clothes and shoes. Her closets forever overflowed.

She loved life, her family, her many friends and telling a good joke.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Robert) Schroeder of Rock Island, and Michael (Connie) Wilkens of Moline; grandchildren, Lindsey Schroeder, Timothy Wilkens, and Kelly Wilkens; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father, John Ballard.
