She graduated from Moline High School in 1940, and attended secretarial school. She worked at Deere & Company until her marriage to Irvin W. McLaughlin on January 10, 1942 in Kohoka, Missouri.
Lorraine devoted her time to raising her five children. In her early 50's she was struck with Rheumatoid arthritis and went on to have multiple joint replacements. Poole, for whom her great-grandmother had worked for a time. Her family is grateful for her careful documentation of family history and for the heirlooms she preserved for future generations.
Lorraine is survived by three daughters and two sons and their spouses, Betty S. and Darrel R. Hagberg of Moline, William I. McLaughlin of Matherville, Ill., Bonnie L. and Richard A. Wray of East Moline, Becky A. and Frank G. Dexter of Taylor Ridge, Ill., and Brian A. and Brenda S. McLaughlin of Amesbury, Mass.; eight grandchildren, Darla R. Jones, Bradly R. Wray, Leanne A. Vermeulen, Andrew F. and Joshua A. Dexter, Amber D. O'Hare, Jessica A. Ruiz, and Michael J. McLaughlin; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Verne R. and Dorothea S. Jamieson of East Moline and Robert L. Jamieson of Port Byron, Ill.; and a sister, Marilyn J. Ade of Moline.
